Volunteer
Volunteering at Panther Ridge is about educating the public and helping our facility stay afloat. It is a unique opportunity to get involved with the conservation of these amazing felines. Applicants should enjoy working outdoors and interacting with the public. You must be 18 years or older, responsible and reliable.
Docents
As a docent, you will be required to commit yearly and go through 20 hours of training to start. Once fully trained, docents must commit to working a minimum of 50 hours a year. You will learn all about our species of cats and each individual’s personality at Panther Ridge as well as our conservation program and mission. Docents must submit a $50 application fee and will receive a work shirt once accepted into the program.
Welders, Carpenters, Maintenance workers are always welcome and needed to help build new enclosures and structures for the cats as well as renovations around the facility. Any way you help out at the Conservation Center, you will have an up-close and very rich experience with our beautiful cats.
Responsibilities
Docents’ responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- Visitor assistance and control
- Interacting with the public and answering questions
- Sharing anecdotes
- Maintaining safety protocol
- Manage gift shop
- General maintenance around facility as needed
- Enrichment projects
- Landscaping
