Clouded Leopards

Nuri

Nuri is one of our off display clouded leopards, who can normally be seen during our Twilight Hours events. She is the mother to Malee, another resident clouded leopard here at Panther Ridge.

Nuri came to us in 2017 from Nashville Zoo, accompanied by Drupata & Tula, her companions that have unfortunately passed away in their elder years. Their trio kick started the clouded leopard breeding program at Panther Ridge and their legacies live on in their offspring Lura and Malee who participate in SSP and AMP breeding programs. Nuri can be very shy at first but once she warms up to you with some treats, she is sweet and energetic once the sun goes down.

Taj

Taj came to us in the spring of 2018 from another facility to be a genetically unrelated companion to Lura after she was born. Malee was born shortly after his arrival, and the decision was made to make a perfect trio of the three to contribute to conservation through species survival plans. Taj is the father of Peach, Leilani, Bruce and Pearl who all live at Panther Ridge. When he’s not cuddling Lura and Malee, you can find him lounging in a box or chirping to his favorite keepers for a midday snack.

Malee

Malee is the second clouded leopard to be born at Panther Ridge to parents Drupata and Nuri, which makes her Lura’s half sister. At a couple months old, she was introduced to Lura and Taj to form a trio - that was so Malee could learn how to be a clouded leopard from them and have companionship as they grew up. She has had multiple cubs that have been placed at reputable facilities across the country to aid in species survival for clouded leopards. Her daughter, Leilani, lives at Panther Ridge with Peach. Malee can be reserved at times, but is exceptionally sweet and playful with the people she’s comfortable with!

Peach

Peach is a clouded leopard cub that was born on February 7th, 2023 to the proud parents Lura and Taj. Peach is incredibly affectionate, she can always be seen running around her enclosure throughout the day and chuffing at her keepers to give her attention. Peach is two months older than her enclosure companion, and half sister, Leilani, and was an excellent role model for Lei as they were growing up. Now you can frequently find the two sisters cuddled up on a perch or in their tunnel together when taking a break from playing.

Pearl

Pearl is our super playful and energetic clouded leopard born to Lura and Taj on January 24th, 2024. Pearl and her brother, Bruce, are the newest additions to the family and are enjoying all the excitements that come with growing up at Panther Ridge. This eccentric little lady loves to wrestle and climb, she’s been quick to learn how to climb like her parents and certainly uses it to her advantage when playing. Going on walks on leash with her keepers is the highlight of her day, she explores the facility while also spending time with her favorite people!
