Cody came to Panther Ridge in 2003 when his owner decided that she didn’t want to keep him anymore. He had been raised in her house with several other domestic animals, but when she added German shepherds to the mix, she didn’t have room in her heart, or home, for Cody. Moved to a backyard cage, Cody was largely ignored.
He came to Panther Ridge depressed, aggressive, angry, and confused. But who could blame him. It has taken several years to win back his trust, and since he is been becoming more playful with our interactions through the enclosure.
Cody has been seeking out attention, and clearly enjoys his brushing and enrichment sessions. He loves to lounge on a ledge close to the side of his enclosure, where he can watch the visitors walk by.
